musical director / owner
Joe was the original music student. Growing up in a house with a family of musicians and a recording studio, Joe started writing songs and playing a variety of instruments at a young age. Having developed through his teens he signed his first publishing deal with Sharp Music at 20 with his band Belief.
2 years later Joe went to Teesside University to achieve a degree in Music Technology. Whilst studying Joe also worked with young local bands developing their sound and recording promotional EPs to help them chase gigs and deliver the goods.
Joe has turned his hand to many musical endeavours over the years. Including a radio show for Heart FM, he’s directed pantomimes and variety shows ranging from 25 to 80 performers. He has hosted shows at venues, theatres, town halls, festivals and various other events.
4 years previous to opening JAM Joe had been running band, teaching drums, bass, guitar, keyboards full time at Rok Skool Haywards Heath, Tunbridge Wells and also as a peripatetic teacher and running music workshops in schools during the day.
Joe also runs an 8 piece Amy Winehouse tribute band, plays guitar for Hot House Rokaoke band and runs a recording studio making EPs for up and coming bands.
Now It’s time for Joe’s Academy of Music…. Lets JAM!
Pippa was trained in dance, singing and acting and has been treading the boards most of her life. She has fronted The Amy Winehouse Experience for the last 8 years and appeared in many Musical Shows and Plays.
For the past 2 years she has taught vocals at JAM, not only helping with vocal techniques, but also stage presence and confidence building.
Harvey lives and breathes Drums. He started playing at the age of 6, at his primary school. He carried on right through his primary years until he left, then started private tuition. He now teaches drums to others, which he loves, and plays in 2 bands which have been recording in a studio and released his first EP with his band Sappy who are playing shows around the southeast.
He is constantly looking up how to improve his playing technique, and dreaming of the ultimate drum career. He is a very dedicated drummer and teacher to JAM, spending every day finding new concepts and ideas to improve his playing. He is at present studying Music A Level and is achieving distinctions and A grade pieces of work. Harvey has achieved Distinctions in all his drum examinations up to Grade 7. He hopes to attend BIMM in Brighton to study a BA Honours degree in professional musicianship to be able to carry on his passion further. One day he will be playing Glastonbury !!
